The British Army will improve the performance of its High Velocity Missile air defense units with a new thermal sight ordered from Thales Air Defense. These will be fitted on the self-propelled versions of the HVM under a $103 million contract. Each vehicle (based on a Stormer tracked chassis) mounts eight missiles in the ready-to-fire position on an unmanned turret.--Stephen V Cole
