Britain is set to upgrade its Tornado GR4 strike fighters with Enhanced Paveway bombs (which have both GPS and laser guidance) and the new RAPTOR digital photo recon pod (which can spot targets at 72km in daylight and at 36km using infrared). The GR4s are themselves being upgraded with new avionics and will continue in service through 2020.--Stephen V Cole
