Brazil has test fired its first Tactical Missile from the ASTROS-II multiple rocket artillery system. Like the ATACMS missile from the American MLRS, this would be a large missile that takes up the space of several smaller bombardment rockets on the existing launcher. Brazil hopes that by having the weapon available, it can sell more of the launchers. The Tactical Missile has a range of 150 kilometers and will have both mid-course and terminal guidance. It will be provided with a number of different warheads which the user can select for the target he wants to destroy.--Stephen V Cole
