Enigma Inc. has unveiled a new personal digital assistant with wireless technology that straps to the forearm of the user. This is being marketed (first) toward airline mechanics, who would then be able to access technical manuals, work order documents, inventory, etc. while crawling around on or inside an aircraft. The system would allow a mechanic to read a manual to check a part, then (if it is broken) check to see if another one is in stock and either have it sent over from the store room or have a new one ordered on the spot. This application could later be marketed toward special operations forces, which would have access via satellite links to maps, translations, reference documents on enemy weapons, photographs of targeted suspects, etc.--Stephen V Cole
