Rumors are circulating that US Special Forces found two "phony" Soviet nuclear weapons in Afghanistan. These may have been "training shapes" used to help crews practice loading and unloading the weapons, but they had been contaminated with nuclear waste, which may indicate that whoever sold them to al Qaeda was trying to pass them off as real weapons.--Stephen V Cole
