Rather than award Purple Heart medals to civilians killed by the terrorist attack on the Pentagon, Defense Secretary Rumsfeld has moved to create the new Defense of Freedom medal which will be given to any civilian working for the Defense Department who is killed or injured by military or terrorist attacks while on duty.--Stephen V Cole
