Oman has confirmed plans to buy sixteen Super Lynx 300 multi-role helicopters for its Navy from Agusta-Westland. Primarily tasked for anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare, the large number of aircraft in the order (more than its ships can carry) indicates some will be used for rescue and resupply missions. --Stephen V Cole
