Canada will conduct a test to see if it can burn plutonium from dismantled US and Russian nuclear warheads as reactor fuel. The plutonium will be mixed with Uranium to produce MOX (Mixed Oxide). It could take three-to-seven years before the Canadian government reaches a decision on whether the idea is practical. Other nations are already starting to burn leftover weapons-grade material as reactor fuel.--Stephen V Cole
