Yemen tool delivery of the first batch of new MiG-29 Fulcrum fighter jets on 26 June, under an agreement signed with Moscow several years ago. An unknown number of new aircraft joined the five Yemenite MiG-29s already at Sanaa air base, where they were commissioned by President Ali Abdullah Saleh. According to Rosoboroneksport sources, Yemen will shell out $120 million for the planes, training of flight and technical personnel and the creation of the service base. - Adam Geibel
