Pakistan says it has 70,000 troops on the Afghan frontier, operating 731 border posts. But American and Afghan officials complain that the Pakistanis are doing little to deal with the tribes on their side of the border who are hosting armed Taliban groups that regularly come into Afghanistan to murder people, stages ambushes and plant bombs.
