Romania temporarily blockaded Yugoslav (Serb) barges on the Danube in retaliation for a Serb blockade of Romanian shippers. Romania contends that the Serbs have kept Romanian shipping bottled up near Belgrade after NATO bombs destroyed Serbian bridges across the Danube.
