India will start licensed production of 150 Russian-designed Su-30-Mk1 multi-role fighters during 2004. India has ordered 50 Russian-built Su-30s, of which 16 have been delivered. For various reasons, those already delivered do not have all of their equipment and will have to be sent back to Russia for upgrades later. --Stephen V Cole
