This chemical is used to process the poppies into drugs. With over four million drug addicts, Pakistan is keen on shutting down drug production in Afghanistan. In Kashmir, rebel violence left 14 rebels, a soldier and three civilians dead. A major separatist alliance in  Kashmir has called for a ceasefire between rebels and the Indian government.
