Overnight, at least fifteen rebels were killed trying to cross the Line of Control into Indian Kashmir. For the last two weeks there has been an increase in Pakistani mortar and artillery fire across the Line of Control. Violence in Kashmir is still running at higher levels, leaving about ten people dead each day from rebel violence. But the increased rebel activity has made it easier to find and seize rebel bases and weapons caches. Hundreds of pounds of explosives have been seized and bomb and mine workshops shut down.
