 Pakistan has put the United States on the spot by asking for P-3 maritime patrol aircraft. The U.S. has over a hundred surplus P-3s that they can give to allies. But Pakistan would use the P-3 mainly to blunt India's naval advantages. This would not please India at all. The P-3, suitably equipped, can also be used for land surveillance.
