India is not just concerned with Islamic militants crossing over from Pakistan into Kashmir, but also with  drug smugglers (crossing at less well protected borders.) By Indian calculations, drug smuggling from Pakistan has doubled in the past year. Nearly all of these drugs come from Afghanistan, and most of it coming into India is bought by Indian addicts. With a middle class of over 100 million people, India has provided a new market for cheaper (because of oversupply) drugs from Afghanistan. Pakistan also has a drug problem, as does Iran and even Iran.
