Terrorist attacks continued in Baluchistan (southwest Pakistan), with five bombs going off. Most were attacks on property, not people. Two rail lines were cut, and a police station was damaged. Two telecommunications towers were brought down. Tribal militants are pressuring the government for a larger share of of the revenue from local oil and gas production. The bombings and other attacks are a form of extortion. 

In Bangladesh, bombs went off in the capital overnight, as political parties staged demonstrations to protest government attacks on opposition groups. Political disputes in the country are becoming more physical than verbal, with riots, bombings and assassinations.
