 In Aceh, police searching for rebels, came across 10 acres of marijuana ready for harvest. Nearby were two men suspected of belonging to the rebels. The marijuana was thought to be one of the money raising efforts the rebels use to fund their activities. There had been rebel activity in the area the day before. The field was burned. Elsewhere in Aceh, clashes with rebels left five rebels and one soldier dead.

In the capital, three bombs were placed near two night clubs and a department store selling items Islamic radicals consider "unislamic." One of the bombs went off and the other two were disarmed. Islamic radicals are suspected, although no one has taken responsibility.
