All Iranians are united in supporting the American attack on Saddam Hussein, despite some pronouncements to the contrary. Saddam, more than America, is the real Great Satan in Iran. The Iraqi invasion in 1980 led to a war that scarred a generation and established the Islamic Republic that is now seen as cruel and oppressive by most Iranians.  Islamic fundamentalists condemn the coalition, but most younger Iranians joke about wishing America would invade Iran and removed the hated Islamic conservatives, after the Yankees are finished with the hated Saddam. Meanwhile, the Islamic conservatives are stalling the attempts of moderates to curb their veto power with new laws in the legislature.
