Iran seems the lesser of two evils. 

Army troops along the border with northern Iraq, have clashed with Kurdish rebels (Kongra-Gel, who used to be called PKK). At least two rebels were killed. The Kongra-Gel fighters live in camps on both sides of the border, but on the Iranian side, they had angered some of the local Kurds by being heavy handed in demanding money, food and other support. Many local Kurds considered this extortion, and complained to
