 In Gaza, Palestinian police rescued two UN employees (a Palestinian man and an Australian woman), who had been kidnapped by the family of a Palestinian security officer who had been, in turn, kidnapped by Palestinian terrorists. The family hoped to use their captives to pressure the terrorists and Palestinian government to release the security officer. This is an all too typical situation in the Palestinian territories, where family and faction count for more than government in general.
