Police and military intelligence efforts are paying off in the fight against NPA (communist) rebels and Islamic radicals (Jemaah Islamiah). There are more arrests every week. The NPA, while pushing a popular policy of corruption free government and jobs, has made themselves unpopular with their extortion (to raise money for operations) and terror tactics against "class enemies" (anyone with an above average amount of property or money). The Islamic radicals are unpopular, even in Moslem areas, because of their terror tactics and bombing attacks.
