: It isnt clear what caused this or what it may mean, but its interesting. Military commanders in the western zone of the the Party for the Liberation of the Hutu People - National Liberation Forces (PALIPEHUTU-FNL, one of the two main Hutu rebel groups in Burundi) removed the PALIPEHUTU-FNL president, Cossan Kabura, from power. The ostensible reason: Kabura allegedly engaged in (peace) negotiations on his own initiative. The peace negotiations took place in South Africa. Obviously, the FNL could be about to split into factions again.
